Thomas Roddy Named CEO Of HealthSouth Montgomery

Thomas RoddyThomas Roddy has been named chief executive officer of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Montgomery, an inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital that serves patients recovering from conditions such as stroke and other neurological disorders, cardiac and pulmonary conditions, brain and spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic conditions, and amputations. Thomas will take over CEO duties following Linda Wade, who recently retired after serving 18 years as CEO of HealthSouth Montgomery.

Thomas comes to HealthSouth Montgomery from Riverview Regional Medical center in Gadsden, Alabama, where he served as CEO and was responsible for overseeing the transition from Community Health Systems to Prime Healthcare, reconstitution of hospital governing board and reconstructing the administrative and leadership teams of the hospital. He brings almost a decade of administrative leadership expertise to his role as CEO and previously served as chief operating officer at Riverview Regional Medical Center from 2013 – 2015, associate administrator at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in Anniston, Alabama, associate administrator at Riverview Regional Medical Center, assistant administrator at Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet, North Carolina, and administrative resident at University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tennessee. 

Thomas received a bachelor’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology and a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in human resource management from Middle Tennessee State University and a master’s degree in health infomatics and in health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Thomas is affiliated with the American College of Healthcare Executives, United Way Young Leaders Society and is a board member for United Way of Etowah County.
